About the Event

In this webinar we will recap the anatomy and physiology of the conduction system, discuss the function (and dysfunction) of the AV node, and review the ECG changes that occur for each type of AV 'block'.

Using a combination of presentation material and group discussion, we aim to promote a deep understanding in a relaxed and didactic environment that caters to a variety of learning styles.

The teaching faculty includes Silas Houghton Budd, a specialist paramedic (critical care), and Jamie Webb, a specialist paramedic (urgent and emergency care), both of whom work in various prehospital roles and have been teaching ECG interpretation for over five years.

Agenda:

  • Anatomy and physiology
  • Symptoms of AV dysfunction
  • Causes of AV 'block'
  • Types of AV 'block' and ECG recognition
  • Management
  • Cases
  • Discussion
  • Q&A

Level: "intermediate"

This workshop is aimed at those with a good basic understanding of, and some experience in, ECG interpretation. Those that are not fully comfortable with the essential concepts of ECG interpretation should consider attending our foundation event – PREMED Online: Foundations of ECG Interpretation – first.

CPD certificates will be available upon completion of course feedback survey.
