Dawn Kerslake

Consultant Midwife

Dawn Kerslake is a highly experienced Consultant Midwife currently working for South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb). She is a former Emergency Department nurse and has 33 years' NHS experience. At SECAmb, Dawn leads in all areas prehospital, innovating maternity care in this forum. She works collaboratively with NHS acute trusts and ambulance services nationally to enhance outcomes for women and families. Dawn has an MSc in Leadership and Service Improvement within Healthcare and is passionate about empowering prehospital clinicians through education and clinical support. Her recent contribution to the new out of hospital new-born life support course (RCUK OH-NLS) will mean that prehospital clinicians will now be part of a multidisciplinary workforce ensuring safe care for babies in community care. Dawn is also a member of the AACE Maternity Ambulance Leads Group and JRCALC as the prehospital maternity lead.

Camella Main

Consultant Midwife

Camella Main is Consultant Midwife for East Midlands Ambulance Service and Lead Midwife for London Ambulance Service in the UK. She also co-chairs the UK’s National Prehospital Maternity and Newborn Group. She is a pre-hospital assessor for MBRRACE (Mothers and Babies Reducing Risk through Audit and Confidential Enquiries). She is a member of the Newborn Life Support subcommittee for the Resuscitation Council UK. She is on the UK-MED register as a humanitarian midwife. She teaches antenatal classes and works clinically as a midwife at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. She has completed a Masters in Enhanced Midwifery Care and a post-graduate certificate in Neuro-behavioural Physical Assessment of the Newborn. She has previously worked in a range of clinical and leadership midwifery posts including fetal monitoring specialist, inpatient matron and midwifery practice leader for intrapartum care. She has previously worked in the UK, New Zealand, Tanzania, the Netherlands and Haiti in midwifery leadership and humanitarian roles.
