Holders of international private medical insurance travel with confidence, and rightly so. World-class hospital care, wherever they are in the world, is a significant reassurance.

But that confidence rests on an assumption: that in a medical emergency, the client will reach the hospital in time, and in a condition to benefit from the care waiting for them.

That assumption is not always safe. The prehospital phase—from the moment something goes wrong to the moment the hospital team takes over—is where outcomes are decided. And for most iPMI clients, it is entirely unmanaged.
